Description of SUTO S211

The new generation of dew point sensors from SUTO builds on more than 20 years of experience in developing sensors for compressed air and industrial gas systems. Over this time, the company’s engineers have continuously improved measurement methods and developed their own sensing elements for innovative hygrometers. The result of many years of research is a unique QCM sensor (quartz crystal microbalance), specifically created for measurements at low dew points where other types of sensors do not work. In combination with a well‑known polymer sensor, the QCM makes the S220 model the world’s first hygrometer that accurately measures across the entire range from –100 °C Td to +20 °C Td, automatically switching between the two sensing elements as needed.

All sensor models offer a plug‑and‑play solution for compressed air quality monitoring in accordance with ISO 8573‑1. For seamless integration into process control systems or upper‑level monitoring systems, various output options are available: 4…20 mA (2‑wire configuration) + SDI, 4…20 mA (3‑wire) + SDI, and 4…20 mA (3‑wire) + Modbus/RTU. In addition, the dew point sensors are offered with an integrated pressure sensor.

The main housing is made of a high‑quality aluminum alloy with a soft coating. The process connection is made of stainless steel 1.4301 (SUS 304), guaranteeing a virtually lifelong service life. The top cover and the optional display cover are produced from durable polycarbonate reinforced with ABS for operation in harsh environments. An OLED display mounted directly on the device displays real‑time values on site. The display can be easily rotated by 340° to adapt it to any configuration.

The new generation of sensors is the successor to the well‑known SUTO hygrometers that have satisfied users for many years. At the same time, the new sensors have been developed using the latest technologies and all accumulated experience, yet remain fully compatible with existing installations.

The exchange calibration service eliminates downtime and allows users to have uninterrupted recording of dew point measurements.
