The SUTO S461 clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter for water and other liquids is a comprehensive solution that provides reliable, cost-effective, and accurate measurement of flow rate and consumption of water and other liquids. Based on time‑of‑flight technology, the S461 flow meter features unique characteristics and outstanding performance.
The S461 flow meter is simply clamped onto the outer surface of the pipe and never comes into contact with the liquid. Due to its robust design, the main unit can be mounted directly on the pipe, on a wall, or on a DIN rail. The flow meter supports pipe diameters from DN40 to DN1200. Flow rate and consumption of the liquid can be measured in both directions (bi‑directional measurement).
The S461 is also available as a portable version in a transport case, allowing flexible use of the flow meter for different measurement points.
Setup and configuration are performed via the wireless S4C‑US mobile app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the SUTO iTEC website, Google Play Store, and Apple App Store. The app allows the user to configure the device as well as read real‑time values, configure the data logger, and read out logged data. It also provides the ability to instantly view daily, weekly, and monthly consumption.
When two clamp‑on temperature sensors are added, the S461 can be used as an energy meter. This makes it easy to monitor the efficiency of heat exchangers as well as liquid flow rate in a single device. Heat exchangers transfer heat (energy) from a higher temperature medium (hot stream) to a colder one (heated stream). The S461 measures the flow rate and the temperature difference between the cold stream and the heated stream. Based on these measurements, the recovered energy is calculated.
The S461 flow meter can be easily connected to any monitoring system via various signal interfaces: Modbus/RTU (standard), 4…20 mA / pulse / alarm relay (optional), and Modbus/TCP (optional).
