Description of MIRKIP MFSGE-341

The flow switch is actuated by the force of the liquid moving the paddle, thereby detecting the presence of flow in the pipe. In the absence of liquid or when the liquid is stationary, a spring returns the paddle to the no-flow position. The reed switch contact is normally open.

When flow occurs and the paddle is deflected by an angle of 20 to 30 degrees (or more), it lifts the magnet, which in turn actuates the reed switch, closing the circuit. The length of the paddle can be adjusted to match the pipe diameter. The 1″ size can be used only with metal pipes.

Installation is simple.

Cut the paddle to the required size for the pipe. DO NOT use with metal pipes under 1″ diameter.DO NOT use with 1″ plastic pipes (1 1⁄4″ — minimum allowable diameter for plastic pipes). Before installing the device into the tee, apply thread seal tape to the threads and tighten securely. The FLOW marking on the screw’s hex must be parallel to the pipe and ground.

Regardless of water flow direction (left-to-right or right-to-left): with flow present, the switch signals and contacts close; with no flow, contacts remain open.
