Series PRD/PRDM is a differential pressure regulator with a port for a downstream pressure sensing line. The sensing line feeds the pressure downstream of the equipment being protected to the top of the spring housing, which assists the spring in keeping the regulator open against the pressure directly at the regulator outlet. When pressure downstream begins to drop (as it would when a filter becomes more and more clogged), the regulator begins to close and becomes fully closed when the differential setting is reached. This assures against overpressure across the equipment. Molded and machined valves in 1/4″ through 3″ and metric pipe sizes in popular thermoplastic materials with a wide range of connection types. Differential set range 5-50 PSI.

On 7 September 1967, Bruce DeLorenzo and Dan McCarthy founded Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. Dan had a sales and marketing talent that matched Bruce’s engineering ability; the two men were a good fit and began looking for opportunities in corrosion resistant process control. The first valves were machined and shipped from Bruce’s garage.
In April 1969, the company began full-time operations and moved into a small industrial building in Clifton, NJ.
After continued growth in the 1970’s, Dan wanted to move on to new challenges and Bruce wanted to take Plast-O-Matic to new heights. After reaching an amicable agreement, Bruce DeLorenzo gained sole control of the company in 1981.
Innovations, advancements and new products led to expansion and new markets in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1988 the machine shop expanded and in 1994 the company moved to its current spacious headquarters in Cedar Grove, NJ. This move to a modern corporate campus had an amazing impact on “team spirit,” with employees taking even more pride in the company. It also allowed Plast-O-Matic to move its injection moulding operations in-house.
In 2010, Chairman Judy DeLorenzo organised the grand opening of the new warehouse in Riverside, California. Judy continues to own and operate the company today with second generation President Tim DeLorenzo at the helm.
Under Tim’s leadership, Plast-O-Matic has installed solar power, implemented lean manufacturing and other best practices. In 2016, the company received ISO 9001:2105 registration and expanded its international sales. In 2019, automation was introduced in the machine shop.
The family garage has become a distant memory, but 50+ years later, the Plast-O-Matic spirit remains the same: better products, superior service, more satisfied customers.
